Charles Holsey	Black	Charles Holsey, 19, was shot and killed on the North Shore in what police are called a drug deal gone wrong. Holsey went to 310 Sylvan Street for a drug deal and got into a fight around 8:45 p.m when the people he was selling to tried to steal the drugs. The teenager then got into a vehicle with his girlfriend and fled the scene. But Holsey only made it about a third of a mile before his vehicle crashed into another vehicle at 709 North Market Street. Demetrius Birt	Black	Alan Miller shot Demetrius Birt, 32, twice in the chest and killed him as the man attempted to rob Miller Auto Sales, located at 4314 Rossville Blvd. Police say Miller acted in self-defense and charges will not be filed against him. Malik Blackstock	Black	Julian Pasley, 19, shot Malik Blackstock, 18, once in the chest, police say. Blackstock died from the injury. Pasley declined to speak with police but witnesses said he claimed it was an accident and had been playing with a revolver before the fatal shot. Robert Rutledge	Black	Police found 66-year-old Robert Rutledge dead in his Shepherd Hills apartment after a neighbor saw blood leading from the door. He suffered obvious injuries, perhaps from a knife. The apartment had been ransacked, according to court documents. After the homicide, the two suspects, Gary Toney Jr. 19, and Javonte Davis, 17, led police on a lengthy chase in the victim's stolen truck and injured two bystanders during a shootout with police.
